Which Underfloor Heating Insulation Board Do I Need?
Selecting the right underfloor heating insulation panel depends on your floor finish and installation type. All options on this page are suitable for wood or laminate floating floors, with boards designed for high efficiency and simple fitting.
- 16mm & 20mm ThermRite PRO Boards – High compressive strength with 150mm pipe centres, these routed insulation boards are ideal for overlay systems. They provide excellent heat transfer and can be used under a wide range of interlocking floor finishes.
- 18mm to 60mm Foil-Covered Boards – Designed for maximum output and efficiency, the foil layer reflects and spreads heat evenly across the room. Suitable for larger projects or where additional insulation depth is required.
- Between-Joist Foil Panels – Available in 2-groove and 3-groove formats, these fit neatly between 400mm centred joists beneath the floor deck. A great option for suspended timber floors where you want underfloor heating without raising the floor height.
