Applications

In Screed Underfloor heating cables are typically used to provide underfloor heating to new build projects using screeded floors. The cable is designed for laying directly onto foil backed insulation then covered with a minimum 50mm sand and cement screed. This system is extremely effective in conjunction with most floor finishes, including ceramic, stone, marble, vinyl, carpet, wood and laminate floor finishes, in internal applications such as kitchens, bathrooms and conservatories. The In Screed cables have a high rating of 15W/Linear metre and on new build projects utilising screed floors, can provide an extremely effective yet economical solution.

Cable Composition

The cable has two layers of extremely tough and durable insulation which provide protection during installation and ensures a prolonged cable life. As the cable is earthed it is also suitable for installation in bathrooms and kitchens. The cable is fitted with 5 metre cold tail connection leads for electrical connection. Cable diameter is between 4.6 and 5.1 mm.


Measuring up

Firstly measure the total floor area you wish to heat, then deduct 10% to to reach the actual available heated floor area.

Once you have established your available heated floor area you need to choose the correct size cable kit. To do this pick the cable nearest too, but smaller than your measured area.

The heat output of the installation can be varied for different applications by adjusting the spacing between the cables.


The kit can be installed to give outputs of:

- 200W/m2 for high heat loss applications - Conservatories and Garden Rooms - (7cm Spacing)
- 160w/m2 for optimum heat output - Bathrooms and Kitchens - (9cm Spacing)
- 130w/m2 for comfort heating - Sitting/Dining Rooms - (11cm Spacing)
- 100w/m2 for background heating - Tile Warming - (14cm Spacing)
